Puneet Jetli

For nearly 30 years, Puneet Jetli has called Bengaluru his home. The seamless symphony between the city and the IT industry has given flight to his career. Puneet found his entrepreneurial spirit and started SensiWise, a startup specialising in cold-chain logistics and industrial asset tracking.

SensiWise flourished under the nurturing wing of Karnataka’s Elevate grant program. Now, through The/Nudge Indian Administrative Fellowship (IAF) Program, Puneet finds a way to give back to the state for the countless opportunities he has found within it.

From startups to statecraft

With three decades of experience in the IT industry, Puneet has worked with cutting-edge technologies and thrived in high-growth environments. His career, marked by his early involvement with two now-prominent startups, SensiWise Solutions and Mindtree, listed on the Indian stock market, showcases his knack for technology-led business value for enterprises.

His journey with The/Nudge Indian Administrative Fellowship (IAF) program is a meaningful blend of industry expertise and societal contribution. Through IAF, he is leveraging his tech background to help the government implement improvements in public service delivery. This role not only allows him to give back but also introduces him to the ins and outs of government operations, a new domain for him.

Bridging the gap between government & people

Working with top state officials, Puneet was struck by their ability to juggle multiple tasks while diving deep into complex issues. This experience entirely shifted his perspective on how crucial coordination and communication are in making the government efficient. Through the Indian Administrative Fellowship, he’s found a way to connect the dots between government and the people.

One of his standout projects is overhauling the Single Window Clearance (SWS) system to boost Karnataka’s Ease-of-Doing-Business (EoDB). He’s helping pull together 138 services across 30 departments, making sure everything runs smoothly by working closely with key officials. He also gathered input from industry leaders to ensure the platform was truly a success. By using tech to streamline processes, increase transparency, and push data-driven decisions, his work is set to level up Karnataka’s EoDB ranking, attract investments, and spark job growth.

Additionally, he’s building a digital platform to support MSMEs, providing them easy access to essential information, market connections, and funding options. He’s also conducting business reviews for state corporations, using his CEO skills to suggest ways to improve strategies.

Vision for holistic growth

Looking ahead, Puneet plans to leverage his expertise in technology, public policy, and government to support MSMEs and self-help groups (SHGs) in enhancing market access and sales through technology. He envisions technology playing a crucial role in future government initiatives, with new Government-to-Citizen (G2C) and Government-to-Business (G2B) services driven by Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and leading technologies. Puneet envisions the widespread adoption of Generative AI, transforming citizen-centric services.

Marked by a sense of gratitude and forward-thinking ambition, Puneet is not only transforming business landscapes but also weaving a collage of progress that spans the entire region. He envisions Karnataka leading in per capita income and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with holistic growth across all region.
