Livelihood Skills

objective: understanding true potential of an individual and training them for a job they desire and deserve.
through skill gap analysis, a Gurukul student is provided a livelihood skill based on their abilities, aspirations and the demands of the job. this ensures higher chances of career growth and dignity of labour post graduation. we currently train our students in four livelihoods.
Beautician Services livelihood has been planned in a way that it provides young underprivileged women a chance to stand on their feet with dignity and get a stable job despite little to no education opportunities in the past. the program provides a basic beautician course in partnership with our livelihood partner Godrej Salon-i.
for poor youth, education is one step towards employment, but the opportunities to have a stable career and ability to save are limited if they look for a job within their community or in the rural settings they mostly come from. our BPO/Sales livelihood program, opens new avenues for students to work in urban localities in various roles related to sales & management and in the BPO sector, enhancing their earning capabilities.
one way to solve youth employment problems for the poor is to give them the skills for a job that helps them earn with dignity even if they did not have the chance of gaining quality education. our driving livelihood in partnership with Maruti Suzuki has helped many men from poor backgrounds learn driving and work for reputed companies in Bangalore and other cities of Karnataka.
Plumbing livelihood is part of our youth employment program in partnership with International Association for Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) and Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) which allows our students to learn the appropriate skills at par with the industry standards and get the industry certification in plumbing.
